About the Opportunity
The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a Wastewater Student based in Lake Country, BC.
The Wastewater Student will be asked to complete sampling and work with the wastewater operations staff.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited:
- wastewater sampling and analysis,
- wastewater equipment verification and calibration,
- assisting in daily operations and maintenance at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and
- assisting in daily operations and maintenance at various wastewater pumping and treatment facilities.
Training will be provided before any staff is asked to complete a task or operate a piece of equipment.
More About You
To qualify for this role, you must enrolled in a Water Engineering Technology program or equivalent post-secondary environmental program and returning to school in the fall of 2025. You must have a valid Driver’s License and steel toe boots. First aid ticket would be considered an asset.
You must fulfill the Canada Summer Jobs Criteria:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
As our ideal candidate, you are self-reliant with the ability to work independently at times, as well as the ability to work within a regulated protocol environment, following rules and regulations.

- You will receive a competitive salary of $22.52 per hour (2025 rate) plus 17.4% in-lieu of all benefits

This position can work up to 40 hours per week including weekends and evenings from May 1 – August 31, 2025 (approximate dates).
