About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Utilities, the Engineering Technician (I or II) will assist with the review and inspection of water and sewer infrastructure and services. The role will require working in the utilities Department in leading coordinating and processing utilities reports. As an Engineering Technician you will provide technical and manual support of operations and maintenance, as well as general oversight of the District water and sewer systems and support outside operations as needed. Duties involve working collaboratively with DLC staff and external agencies, interacting with Public to provide great service. This position works in a fast-paced environment and requires a high degree of technical problem solving.

 

You responsibilities includes, but not limited to:

  • Coordinates and supports technical information for utilities reports
  • Assists with reviewing policies and process documentation
  • Reviews water and Sewer Data
  • Coordinates and supports water sampling program
  • Coordinates supports the FOG program


More About You
To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of an engineering technology diploma or related field and be eligible for a certificate of registration as an applied science technologist. Additionally, an Engineering Technician I is required to have a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in engineering planning and design with municipal systems and services or an Engineering Technician II is required to have a minimum of 5 years’ related experience. A valid British Columbia driver’s license is required.
