About the Opportunity
The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Senior Advisor Intergovernmental Relations, based in Lake Country, BC.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer you will contribute to the ongoing efforts in fostering relations with other orders of government and key stakeholders. You will work collaboratively across the organization to foster an integrated approach, building strong relationships with government partners as well as key local, regional and provincial agencies to advance the District’s strategic priorities.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited:
- Providing intergovernmental relations advice and guidance for strategic communications to senior management and council.
- Coordinating strategic planning and goal development for the organization.
- Developing and fostering the District’s government relations efforts and partnership opportunities.
- Preparing materials for meetings with senior government officials, including briefing notes, speaking notes and presentations.

More About You
To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of a diploma in local government administration or related field of study and a minimum of five of progressive experience in municipal, provincial or federal levels of government. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. You will be required to submit a satisfactory criminal record check and proof of a valid BC Driver’s License prior to your start date.
As our ideal candidate, you will have excellent judgement, decision making, organizational and time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities. You are a strategic thinker and problem solver, and have exceptional communication skills, including strategic planning and reporting and persuasive writing.
Above all, we value a deep understanding of politics and government administration and a keen awareness of current trends and issues at various levels of government.
About the Benefits
- This exempt position offers a competitive annual salary in the range of $90,024 to $105,403.
