Permanent Vacancy – Millwright

 

About the Opportunity

 

The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Millwright based in Lake Country, BC.

 

Reporting to the Utilities Manager, the Millwright will maintain and optimize mechanical systems within our water and wastewater facilities. 

 

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • designs, lays out, installs, maintains, repairs, rebuilds and troubleshoots industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in the District’s water and wastewater facilities.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds and services a variety of pumps, motors, valves, piping systems and other lift station and water/wastewater system equipment; performs welding and fabrication duties.
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure reliability.

 

More About You

 

To qualify for this role, you must have a Millwright Journeyman and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in as a journeyman Millwright in an industrial or public works environment . Additionally, a valid British Columbia Driver’s License (Class 5)  is required.

 

As our ideal candidate, you have thorough knowledge of pumps, valves, and rotating equipment and excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
